It’s a strap!
An ongoing experiment with used pallet straps. These straps are widely used to secure packages during transport.
While being made of recyclable polyester, to be super strong and highly durable, they’re meant for single use.
Right after the package has been arrived they will end up in the trash bin.
Rein takes advantage of this waste of a local production company, delivering him a free supply of material to work with.
Playing around, starting with weaving, evolved into welding straps together making it possible to set up frames and create objects.
Baskets, plants, tennis rackets, furniture ... what will be next? The possibilities seem to be endless and come without guilt since the straps would’ve been thrown away anyhow.
