By reworking this age-old method with colorful synthetic ropes, Rein creates wall pieces where dazzling crossings and rhythms celebrate craft in a contemporary form

While wandering the streets of Tokyo, I kept spotting this vibrant yellow-and-black rope—love at first sight. I brought a bundle back to my studio and transformed it into a large-scale knotwork piece
